Argos Dog Training

Randy Davis began his career working with dogs in the early 2000's, as he spent his Thursday mornings volunteering at a local shelter.  He was immediately drawn to the "problem" dogs there, dedicating his time to understanding how and why these dogs behaved the way they did.  Many years of experience with problem dogs like these gave Randy the opportunity to learn how to modify and manage a wide array of different behavioral issues-- from anxiety to fear, panic to aggression, separation distress to over-excitement.

Shelter environments can be very stressful for dogs.  So Randy took home many dogs with behavior issues and worked with them until they were ready for adoption. In 2008, Randy formed Better by the Pound, a non-profit rescue dedicated to helping behaviorally challenged dogs in rescues and shelters.  In 2009, Better by the Pound officially became a 501(c)(3) California nonprofit organization.

Soon after Randy started working with private clients, helping them to work through many of the same types of behavior issues with their personal dogs.  And Argos Dog Training was born. Randy continues to assist both rescues & shelters as well as private clients with their behaviorally challenged canine companions.
